This page describes the selection scope for a 60kW liquid cooling system used in a containerized BESS application. Cooltechx supplies thermal-management equipment; the complete BESS architecture, battery system and project operating limits must be defined by the battery-system designer and the project team.
Why a nominal BESS energy capacity is not enough
The original project reference described a containerized BESS application. A system energy rating on its own does not determine the cooling equipment. The selection must be checked against the actual battery heat load, charge and discharge duty cycle, coolant-loop design, site ambient conditions and integration interfaces.
Information required for a 60kW liquid-cooling configuration
- Required cooling capacity at the defined ambient and coolant operating point
- Coolant supply and return temperatures, coolant specification and allowable temperature range
- Required flow, available pump pressure and permitted pressure drop in the battery-side loop
- Container layout, piping interfaces, electrical supply, controls and monitoring requirements
- Site ambient range, altitude, installation arrangement and service access
Equipment referenced
For the equipment-level configuration, see the 60kW Liquid Cooling System for BESS. Product documentation and the project-side thermal requirements should be reviewed together before a final quotation or installation decision.
Compare available energy-storage liquid-cooling systems
Explore the current energy storage liquid cooling systems to compare capacity and installation configurations. For a practical RFQ checklist, read BESS Liquid Cooling Capacity: What to Compare.
Planning cooling for a 5MWh BESS container
For a project specified as 5MWh, distinguish stored energy from the required cooling duty. Review the 5MWh BESS cooling equipment selection checklist to prepare the thermal load, coolant-loop and installation inputs. A nominal 60kW equipment reference does not establish the cooling requirement for every 5MWh system.
Request a project check
Send the BESS thermal requirements, liquid-loop parameters, site conditions, electrical supply and installation drawing to the Cooltechx team. This lets the cooling-equipment scope be checked against the actual project operating point.
Important project note
This page is an application reference. It does not replace battery-system validation, safety design, hydraulic design or site-specific engineering by the complete project team.
